struck by lightning

FINALLY!!! a perfect storm to catch some great lightning shots via the field to our south. unfortunately, the corn was pretty tall and hard to shoot over, but I managed to grab some great shots. Most of them are shot at 400 or 800 ISO at F22 and approximately 30s.

Defending our Freedom

We spent a little time at the air show today and snapped some pics. It was pretty hot, so we left early and I shot some more pics with the long lens rental from home. Of course, Kate made it into a few pics too...

We're back from CO. It's been quite a while since we've posted but we've been very busy between work and vacation. Check out all the new pics in our gallery from our trip!

peach, I could eat a peach for hours

Well, with the size of bites that Kate takes, it could take hours to get through one of the monster peaches that Kara picked on Saturday at the Kimmel Orchard Peach Festival. It was a long day with an early trip to Nebraska City with Tim and Kelly to pick some peaches, sample some cherry beer (which was great) and some BBQ. We also went to the Sarpy County Fair in the evening and saw some farm animals and enjoyed a Monarch Wing. YUMMM!

Hope you have a wonderful first birthday Kate! Your mommy did a wonderful job on a monster of a cake and everyone loved spending the afternoon with you. To the greatest one year old on the planet, may you have many, many, many more great birthdays!

There's a first for everything.  We've seen her get really tired, but never actually seen Kate fall asleep in the middle of meal time.  She must have been EXHAUSTED to fall asleep at the table on Friday!  Too cute!

back from branson

We're back in the normal world now. Back to work, back to daycare. We had a great time in Branson over the weekend sharing in Great Grandma and Grandpa's 55th wedding anniversary. We spent lots of time in the pool since it was very hot and humid. Kate really enjoyed the pool and was quite the attention grabber as she showed off her new walking skills. She certainly didn't enjoy the car ride back though, she was quite bored and cranky after about 5 hours. I think I saw her actually pout for the first time when we wouldn't let her out of the car seat.

Yes, that's right, I am now walking.  Not far, not fast, but I can take several steps in a row before losing my balance.  Hello world, here I come!!!

Welcome Home Grandpa Altman

Congrats on finishing another Bike Race Accross Nebraska (BRAN)!  We are very glad to have you home safe and sound.  P.S.  Those water bottles weigh more than your Madone but nice try.  : )
